Yes, you can have a cut flower garden designed just for you! We help gardeners of all skill levels to design, install, and maintain a cut flower garden. We want to support your flower goals and vision. We are passionate about bringing flowers to gardens in Ireland. A cut flower garden can be:

What is a cut flower garden?

Cut flowers are exactly what you think they are: flowers grown for cutting. Unlike landscaped flower beds, cut flower gardens are designed to be enjoyed both in the garden and in your home. Cut flowers are used for pressing, dyes, gifts, or just your enjoyment. You can even decide not to cut the flowers and have your garden be somewhere you visit, somewhere that can restore you after a hard day. Or you can make your own bouquet for your table or a neighbor (without the supermarket premium). What we love most is that your cut flower garden can be different in spring, summer, and fall, and can be designed new every year.

OUR MISSION

Starting a cut flower garden is hard work and time consuming. We want to free you from these stresses by finding:

  • the best location for your cut flower garden,

  • the best raised bed for our wet weather,

  • the best quality soil for your plants and family, and

  • the best flowers and plants for your desired growing season.

We’ll build a garden you’ll want to visit again and again whether alone for peace or with your family to gather a posy for your breakfast table. We can even provide you with flowers that continue to bloom after you cut them!

All services start with an on-site consultation. If you’re located within 50km of Cobh, Ireland schedule a convenient time for us to visit your garden.

We’ll offer several ways we can help you build your own garden or we can design and build it for you, all tailored to your needs and growing space. You’ll decide the next steps.

Yes, there is a lot to learn about growing cut flowers, but we are here to help you get started. We can coach you to grow your own flowers or we can do the set up for you and coach you along the way. Hi! Kara here! I'm overdue in posting an introduction. Wanted to share a little bit about me so you know who you're chatting with in this little space. . I’m a self-taught gardener. I found my passion for gardening over the last decade while living and learning to garden on three coasts - the Gulf Coast, the East Coast, and now the West Coast. . I grew up in the very hot state of Texas where many blooms last only a short while before they wither. The daintiest and fussiest flowers can’t survive very long in the Texas heat. But everything changed for me over seven years ago when I moved to Seattle and fell in love with a whole new world of four(ish!) seasons, which brought flowers that I had never seen before. Seattle’s farmer’s markets and Pike Place Market were full of beautiful flowers and dahlias cascading out of buckets. Flowers were popping up near trash cans and the shadiest locations in the garden. Spring trees were full of blossoms that fell like soft pink rain. On those first neighborhood walks I would study all the plants that were new to me and fall in love with something special each season and year. What a gift to live in an amazing place to grow flowers! . The first cut flower garden that I grew from seed was white cosmos and poppies. I grew them in egg cartons in the sunniest window I could find in our 100-year old Seattle home. They overflowed our raised bed and I was sold on growing flowers forever. . Fast forward to today, and I’ve designed and built many raised beds in multiple urban and rural locations, including on a sloped property, balcony with containers, and large planter boxes. . Before moving to Seattle I didn’t know that a tulip’s petals opened and closed each day! I had only seen them in a vase, where they open and then fall away. We all start somewhere, and in gardening that might be with very little knowledge!
